History
Toys and Joys, began making woodworking patterns in 1981. Phil Vander Ploeg,
architectural darftsman, and industrial arts instructor was frustrated with the
availability of good quality toy patterns and parts, so he decided to build a company
that would supply these to fellow woodworkers. After hundreds of hours in the
shop, and on the drafting table, Toys and Joys began. Over the next 20 years Phil
created a line of patterns that is second to none. Scale, and attention to detail was
a must when making a pattern for our customers. In 2002, Phil's brother Karl,
purchased Toys and Joys, and continues to hold the core values of Toys and Joys to
the highest limits. We offer a wide selection of patterns to fit every woodworkers
needs. Today we service thousands of customers world wide, and continue to
strive to be the best pattern company for our absolute terrific customers. We are
proud of where we have been, but excited for the future ahead.
