Instructions for 1928 Chevy Pick Up #55. ?

Postby Ace » Sat Dec 29, 2018 7:28 am

Greetings everyone:
I am new to model building and new to this forum.
I purchased Plan #55, in hope of building with my grand daughter.
I was surprised that it only came with the blueprints and no instructions.
Are there instructions that we can follow. IE: step 1, etc.?
Been mulling this plan over in my head and really feel the need that i need instructions for our first model build.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Nope, that's what you get. However, they are pretty straightforward. Look over all the pages first to get an idea of what you're going to need in terms of wood and tools. Then, starting at page one work through each part. The pages are a rough guideline to the order of construction. These are very popular projects, so someone somewhere has already done them. Look around on the internet for help. www.lumberjocks.com has a few builders who give excellent step by step instructions. (Some of those guys show up here, too). If all else fails, ask a question here. You'll always get a quick and detailed answer. Have fun.

you have picked a good one to start with ...it and quite a few of the car patterns are relatively easy, certainly compared to the more recent models

the most difficult part is the mudguards but look through the posts here and the question has been asked and answered before about a process for that

as said above, any questions post here and someone will have a go at answering for you

Thank you everyone, very helpful. I found some great help on making
The running boards/mud flaps. I am wondering if I perhaps need a scroll saw or band saw
To make the roof and engine block. This is our first first model so we are a little dumb founded
On how to make this work. We are using Maple and Walnut for our build.

Thank you so much. These instructions for the mud flaps running board are awesome.
This is just what I needed. I am now searching for instructions on how to do the roof in
One piece. Seems to make so much more sense to actually see the pictures of how they are done. Thank you
