Pattern #74 Locomotive

Postby ronnus » Sun Nov 25, 2018 5:20 pm

Hi Guys, ronnus from downunder. Has anyone built the Locomotive #74. My question is, does the boiler have a slight taper to it?

I haven't built this model yet. It's on my list and I have the drawing and parts. Looking at the drawing, there is a taper part way down the boiler. Total length of the boiler is 11". The first 2 1/4" is 3" in diameter. Then the next 2 3/4" tapers down to 2 5/8". This is the diameter for the rest of the boiler.

Hope this helps. What woods are you going to use? Good luck.

Thank you so much. I am still waiting for the planes to arrive from the US. Cheers.

Hi ronnus... Come in a bit late.

If you are at all familiar with SketchUp (just navigation knowlege), I have a copy of it here https://www.dropbox.com/s/ickvemtv7yklym5/Locomotive%20%2874%29%20-breakdown.skp?dl=0. It has exploded scenes. Saved as Sketchup V16 to make it backward compatible.
There are two ways of doing things,,, My way or the right way.
